Live Rodents
Some animals just won't take frozen food, and that's where live rodents come in. Our live mice and rats are raised right here and fed a quality diet, so you're feeding a healthy meal. We carry mice from pinky to jumbo, and rats in pinky, fuzzy and weaned sizes.
Tips from our team:
- Never leave a live rodent alone with your animal. An adult mouse or rat can bite back and seriously hurt your pet. Stay and watch.
- If your animal hasn't eaten within about 15 minutes, take the rodent out and try again another day.
- Pick prey about as wide as the widest part of your animal's body.
- Feed your rodent right away, or keep it in a secure, ventilated container with food and water until feeding time. Never leave it in a hot car.
- Many animals can learn to eat frozen over time, which is safer for them. Ask us how to make the switch.
