Enclosure Size
Western Green Toads can be kept in a 10-gallon tank for the entirety of their lives. A larger habitat would be recommended for multiple specimens. Western
Substrate
A sand and soil mixture of a depth of 2" would be ideal to mimic the
Western Green Toads natural environment. This depth allows the bottom of the soil to remain damp while the surface can remain dry. Rocks, caves, and cork bark can be added for enrichment.

Western Green Toads need an ambient temperature of 75º to 80º
F.
Lighting
Lighting is not required for Western Green Toads. For live planted terrariums or aesthetics light may be used. Low strength UVB can be used to promote plant growth and act as an anti-microbial. There is no current proof that this animal requires UVB light, although some keepers prefer to provide UVB.
Plant and Fish bulbs are not UVB bulbs.
